The highest pay was in California ($203,840), Hawaii ($170,110), Massachusetts ($159,800), Washington ($158,970), New Jersey ($153,970). The lowest was in North Dakota ($72,630), Indiana ($101,630), Georgia ($105,510).
About 7,920 people were employed as nurse midwives in May 2025.
